Step 1: Sign in and install Prey on your first device
To activate your account, sign in to your Prey Panel and connect your first device.
- Sign in using the email address and password you used to create your account.
Install Prey on your platform:
- Computers (Windows, macOS, Linux): Download the installer from the Add Device section in your Prey Panel, run it, and follow the installation wizard. Click here to learn about additional installation methods.
- Mobile devices (Android, iOS): Download the Prey app from the Google Play Store or the App Store, then sign in with your account to link your device. You can also scan the QR code available in your Prey Panel. Click here for detailed instructions.

Step 2: Explore your Prey Panel
After installation, your device will appear in your Prey Panel.

Step 3: Review recommended settings
Before you finish your setup, we recommend completing the following:
- Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to add an extra layer of security to your account.
- Turn on email notifications to stay informed about activity across your fleet.
- Review desktop permissions and limitations to help prevent unauthorized uninstallation and ensure Prey runs properly.
- Review your mobile device settings to ensure Prey can operate correctly on Android and iOS.
